We are currently looking for a Transport / Logistics Supervisor for a busy transport / logistics department in Grantham for an immediate need. This role will be supervising a small team in a busy transport hub.

Your duties as a Transport / Logistics Supervisor will include:

* Responsible for planning, routing and day to day running of the of vehicles.

* Breakdown, repair, and MOT organising, dealing with issues about the vehicles and documenting these.

* Managing 2 direct reports along with holiday management, rotas, timesheet analysis, hours, and driver records

* Optimising the utilisation of vehicles, updating delivery times to clients

* Make sure all vehicles are loaded / unloaded in a timely manner and vehicles are off site on time.

* Conduct a comprehensive handover for the next shift supervisor.

The ideal Transport / Logistics Supervisor candidate will have:

* Previous Transport/Logistics planning, supervisory experience, or been a transport planner that has stood in for the manager and is ready for the next step in responsibility,

* Excellent telephone manner

* Organisational and prioritisation skills

* Experience of managing people

* Competent in working with Microsoft Word/Excel.
