The firm are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join the finance team. This role will report to the Finance Director and play an integral part in ensuring accurate completion of monthly management accounts and forecasting short-term profit & loss outlook. The Management Accountant will also recommend and implement continuous improvements to the systems and processes of the Finance Function, as well as key financial reporting and internal cost control, including VAT. You will also support the wider group subsidiary's management accounting system development.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Financial System Closure: Oversee the month-end closure of financial systems; Coordinate financial ledgers and operational transaction processes.
• Monthly Reporting: Prepare and present monthly P&L and KPI performance reports to Directors and Senior Management; Perform variance analysis.
• Journal Entries and Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Manage all journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations; Collaborate with the Finance Director (FD) to ensure accuracy in reporting and reviews.
• Rebate Agreements and Promotional Accruals; Calculate rebate agreements; Work with the Sales team on promotional and contribution accruals.
• Standard Costs Management: Establish, monitor, and maintain Standard Costs; Conduct variance analysis.
• VAT Returns and Reporting: Prepare and submit VAT Returns; Analyse and report to HMRC.
• Statistical Reporting: Perform statistical analysis and reporting for Intrastat and National Statistics.
• Department Overhead Reporting: Provide reports on department overheads; Conduct ad-hoc cost analysis.
• Financial Modelling and Budget Support: Develop financial models; Support budgeting and forecasting processes, liaising with stakeholders.
• Internal Controls and Procedures Improvement: Continuously enhance internal controls and procedures within the Finance Function, focusing on Purchase Ledger, Payroll, and Cashflow.
• Payment Authorisation: Review and authorise payments on banking systems in accordance with company Delegation of Authority policies.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, other relevant).
• Good grasp of MS Office, advanced Excel is a must.
• An organised person, with keen interest in the general business and current market trends.
• Strong communication skills.
• Eye for details and able to identify variances and trends.
• Able to work with data efficiently, including extracting, analysing, formatting, and uploading data.
• Adaptable team worker, able to support other teams and colleagues.

This role offers a salary of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience. This position is 5 days on-site, with flexibility being available after probation.
