Are you an experienced leader in quarry operations? We're looking for a Unit Manager to drive performance, safety, and efficiency at Keepershield & Swinburne Quarry.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop operational teams to achieve business objectives
Ensure safety, environmental, cost, and quality targets are met
Oversee resource planning and asset management
Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
Maintain compliance with company and statutory requirements

To achieve agreed safety, environmental, cost, quality, and service objectives through the successful and effective management of the Unit. Constantly seek to improve the efficiencies and existing performance levels.
The definition of the Unit and sites included within it may be subject to change as business requirements dictate.

Business Analysis - Work with the Operations Manager to analyse and utilise operational data to drive efficiency and profitability.
Resource Planning - Ensure site teams are well-resourced, trained, and developed, with a strong succession plan in place.
Leadership & Direction - Guide site teams, setting clear goals and fostering professional growth.
Operational Control - Implement effective controls covering Health & Safety, environmental compliance, capex management, and revenue control.

• Achieve optimum production levels in line with commercial activity at the lowest operation cost.
• Continually advance operational improvements to improve efficiency with the production functions.

Distribution

• Working with the logistics function to ensure operational procedures are such that highest customer service levels can be achieved at the most efficient operational cost.

Quality

• Working with the technical function to ensure operational procedures are such that the highest quality levels are achieved at the most efficient operational cost.

The role holder is expected:

Education/Qualification

• Higher level either vocational or educational
• NVQ/QCF Level 5/7 in SHE quarry operations
