Location: Sutton

Pay: £28 Umbrella P/H

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Domestic Abuse Project Officer to join our team and help shape a supportive and effective housing service for domestic abuse survivors. You will work closely with housing providers, local authorities, and third-sector partners to develop and implement a new service model that prioritizes safety, support, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a service model for victims of domestic abuse in partnership with housing and third-sector organizations.
  • Support the delivery of the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation program and ensure best practices are embedded across the sector.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and training programs to improve understanding and responses to domestic abuse.
  • Conduct evidence-based risk assessments to identify risks to victims and integrate them into the organization's operating model.
  • Establish strong referral pathways to statutory and non-statutory services for safeguarding victims and their children.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and monitoring processes.
  • Build and maintain partnerships within the housing sector and multi-agency settings, including participation in MARAC meetings.
  • Organize initiatives, awareness events, and training programs for internal teams and external partners.
  • Oversee the Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions initiative and support their professional development.
  • Embed domestic abuse responsibilities across all service areas of the organization.
Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong knowledge of domestic abuse, including the challenges victims and perpetrators face in accessing housing.
  • Experience working within the DAHA accreditation framework.
  • Project management experience, ideally within housing or support services.
  • Direct experience supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse.
  • Experience implementing service improvements and change management.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience developing policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Word and Excel (experience with G Suite is desirable).

Desirable:

  • Understanding of domestic abuse in a social housing context.
  • Experience working with the Traveller community.
  • Experience developing ICT infrastructure for case management.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Ability to lead the DAHA accreditation process and engage stakeholders across the housing sector.
  • Capable of managing complex projects with tight deadlines.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
