Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineering Manager to join a well-established industrial manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional looking to take on a leadership position within a lower-tier COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) site.

About the Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the Mechanical Engineering & Civil Engineering departments, managing a team of 25 staff as well as external contractors when required. This is a key leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, personnel management skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Overall management of the Mechanical & Civil Engineering departments.

Supervision of mechanical maintenance activities and project engineering.

Ensuring the efficient use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legal and statutory requirements.

Liaising with internal teams and external agencies, including suppliers, contractors, HSE, and insurance inspectors.

Candidate Requirements

HNC (minimum) or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

At least 10 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

Strong leadership and personnel management skills.

Proficiency in computer systems and maintenance management tools.

Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously and adapt to operational priorities.
