Interim Financial Controller | Infrastructure business | Crawley (4 days in the office) | £400-£500 per day | 6 month contract

A high-growth, consumer-based infrastructure business is looking to recruit a Financial Controller on a 6 month contract to cover ahead of them hiring on a permanent basis. The role will be based in the Head Office in Crawley, working 4 days per week in the office.

Reporting to the COO, you will be managing a team of 6 qualified and part qualified accountants. You will oversee the timely production of the month-end, management accounts as well as looking at ways to improve financial processes and controls.

Responsibilities include:

• Management of a team of 6 including motivating, developing and reviewing workload as well as recruiting
• Overseeing the monthly management accounts, ensuring these are produced in an accurate and timely manner
• Management of the month end process including reviewing existing policies to improve the reporting timeframes
• Managing cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Owning the quarterly VAT returns
• Ad-hoc project work including integration of new entities and improvement of existing systems
• Working closely with the senior management team, reporting on costs per department and talking through budgets vs. actuals

Skill set required

The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with experience working in a Financial Controller role. You must have experience of Netsuite as well as strong people management experience. You will be confident at overseeing the month-end and management accounts and working in a hands-on role. Knowledge of the infrastructure, utilities or energy industry experience is beneficial but not essential. To succeed in this role, you will be a natural communicator, process driven, and will be proactive in driving change in a fast-paced environment.
