Principal Education is recruiting a Facilities Officer on behalf of a well-regarded school in East London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and skilled individual to play a key role in maintaining a safe and efficient learning environment.

About the Role:

As the Facilities Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the school premises, ensuring a well-maintained, secure, and safe environment for students and staff. This is a hands-on role requiring practical skills and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and minor building works
✅ Performing carpentry, plumbing, and handyman duties as required
✅ Ensuring the school grounds and facilities are kept clean and hazard-free
✅ Conducting routine safety checks and liaising with contractors where necessary
✅ Supporting with site security, including opening and closing the premises

About You:

Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., maintenance, caretaker, facilities management)
Strong practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, or general repairs
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
Awareness of health & safety regulations in a school or similar setting
A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
