I am looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join my clients team overseeing multiple roofing and waterproofing projects across the UK. This role is identical to a Senior Contracts Manager position and requires someone with the expertise to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously, typically ranging from £1 million to £20 million.

You will be based at their head office in Leeds, with regular UK-wide travel to sites to ensure operational control and project delivery. A comprehensive understanding of roofing systems, waterproofing systems, and associated materials is essential, as you will play a key role in ensuring that the right solutions are implemented, offering expert advice to clients and project teams.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, they will rely on you to take full responsibility for the planning, execution, and delivery of roofing and waterproofing projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards in terms of safety, quality, compliance, and profitability. Working closely with clients, contract managers, and site teams, you will provide technical expertise and ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

1 - Safety & Compliance

* Ensure that site teams meet the commitments outlined in the Safety Management System and comply with both statutory and client requirements.

* Proactively manage and enforce health and safety regulations across all projects. Champion safe working practices and drive a strong health and safety culture.

* Produce and manage all required safety paperwork, including risk assessments and method statements.

* Ensure that Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans are adhered to, with all registers, permits, and compliance documents in place.

* Conduct internal site safety audits, working with supervisors and site managers to address any issues.

* Ensure all accident and near-miss reports are documented and escalated to the SHEQ team.

* Monitor and review staff training, ensuring all personnel have the necessary qualifications and inductions.

* Promote the professional development of staff, identifying competency gaps and ensuring training is provided.

2 - Project Delivery

* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that expectations are managed and projects are delivered successfully.

* Oversee and coordinate multiple roofing and waterproofing projects, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget.

* Assist in establishing client requirements, undertaking feasibility studies, and ensuring that project proposals are viable.

* Work closely with Contract Managers to ensure efficient resource allocation across sites. Attend and lead contract meetings, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and that agreed actions are completed.

* Break down projects into work packages, subcontracting specialist trades as required.

* Conduct regular site visits, monitoring progress, resolving challenges, and ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards. Ensure that all construction projects meet agreed technical standards and regulatory requirements.

* Oversee programme creation and compliance, ensuring projects progress according to schedule.

3 - Commercial & Financial Management

* Work closely with the commercial team to manage project budgets, valuations, and invoicing. Identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring contract compliance and adherence to project timescales.

* Manage and approve subcontract orders, ensuring they align with specifications and budgets, and provide procurement schedules and advise the procurement team on subcontractor and supplier requirements.

* Conduct pre-order meetings with subcontractors, ensuring expectations are clear. Track contract variations, ensuring all changes are recorded and communicated effectively.

* Liaise with legal teams, finance teams, and clients to ensure full contract documentation is in place.

* Maintain meticulous records, ensuring all contractual conversations and agreements are documented in writing.

What They're Looking For

* Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager or Senior Contracts Manager within the roofing and waterproofing sector and a comprehensive understanding of all roofing and waterproofing systems and materials, including:

-Built-up felt

-Liquid-applied waterproofing

-Single-ply systems

-Slating and tiling

-Roof and wall cladding, including fire remediation works

-Facilities management, small builders' work, and dilapidation schemes

* A strong background in managing projects valued between £1 million and £20 million and an extensive experience in construction project management, with a deep understanding of the industry.

* Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, influence, and motivate teams.

* Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts and CDM regulations.

* The ability to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring projects run as efficiently as possible.

* A full UK driving licence, with the flexibility to travel across the UK as required.
