Barnsley Council are seeking an experienced Group Leader - Capital Projects (Economic Development) to join the team based in Barnsley. You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis (37hours per week)and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £57,998 - £62,878 per annum.

We’re excited to be recruiting to the post of Group Leader Capital Projects (Economic Development) to lead on the delivery of the capital regeneration projects for Barnsley, the place of possibilities and South Yorkshire.

In the last fifteen years £300m+ has been invested in town centre residential, offices, managed workspace and grow-on space, the transport interchange, new colleges, public realm and the Glassworks centre. Ongoing investment will see the development of the Seam digital campus, the £23m Goldthorpe Town Investment Plan, the multi-million-pound capital regeneration projects across our six principal towns, the Health on the High Steet project and a range of other capital projects. Barnsley Council has for many years been at the forefront of capital project delivery and has a strong history of delivery.

As Group Leader, you will provide leadership and vision for the delivery of a capital regeneration projects across the borough of Barnsley. You will be tasked with developing and delivering capital projects on time and on budget and to support the wider aims and ambitions of the Economic Development service and the council.

You will also play a vital role in the management and leadership of the Economic Development service and to work with senior Council officers, Council Cabinet and decision-makers across our local and regional partners, including South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.
