Location: Primary School in Thornton
Contract: Maternity Cover (22nd April 2025 - October half term 2025)

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Reception Teacher to join our vibrant primary school in Thornton. This is a maternity cover position, starting from Easter 2025 and running until October 2025, providing an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact during this critical stage of early education.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum with creativity and enthusiasm.

Plan and implement engaging lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.

Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels supported.

Monitor and assess pupil progress, maintaining detailed records and providing constructive feedback to parents and carers.

Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the school's welcoming and supportive ethos.

Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in the EYFS or Reception year.

Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and best practices in early education.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Commitment to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
