Pay: £1900 - £2200 per monthVeritas Education are working with a small OFSTED rated Good school based in Rotherhithe who are looking to hire a graduate teaching assistant to work with students one to one and support within the classroom. Your role would be working closely with students 1:1 and helping to manage behaviour and learning in a smal class on a full time contract. The successful graduate teaching assistant will work independently as well as closely with teaching staff to deliver specialised 1:1 sessions for students.

You will be helping deliver an exciting curriculum as a graduate teaching assistant where children are encouraged to explore, discover and question via an enriching learning experience. They recognise and celebrate the talents of each child, enabling them to grow in confidence in both their educational and personal lives. As a graduate teaching assistant, you will work closely with parents, carers and families as a part of the wider community.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT

Graduate Teaching Assistant support for Pupils:

Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learning
Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupilsGraduate Teaching Assistant Support for Teachers:

Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' work
Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will beQualifications needs as a Graduate Teaching Assistant:

Essential:

Psychology degree or related field
Good literacy skills - GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent
Good numeracy skills- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent
