Primary Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Salary Scale: £95- £105 a day

Start Date: September 2024

Status: Full Time

GSL Education are looking for a Primary Level 3 Teaching Assistant to cover various subjects in one of their client primary schools in Sheffield.

Job Summary:

Provide support to the classroom teacher by helping with lesson preparation, setting up equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
Implement individual learning plans and provide feedback to the teacher on student progress.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns.
Responsibilities:

Supervisor classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
Manage student behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
Liaise with other staff members in regard to work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.
The successful candidate will:

Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
Empathize with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Have the ability to use your own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
