Position Overview
The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organisation, ensuring efficient financial operations, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of the hospitality industry. The candidate will be someone who is a self-starter and is comfortable working in a less structured, ever changing and dynamic 'start-up' environment. With one of the key initial projects of the role bringing in-house the management accounts process they will have a chance to make an immediate impact on the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:

Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals.

Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.

Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
Budget Management:

Oversee the preparation and management of the annual budget.

Monitor and report on budget performance, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

Implement cost-control measures to optimise financial performance.
Accounting and Reporting:

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.

Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.

The key initial project will be to bring in house the month-end management accounts process (currently outsourced). Implement controls and processes to complete month-end

Coordinate month-end, quarterly and year-end close processes including all HMRC submissions
Cash Flow Management:
Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies.

Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Team Leadership:

Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Conduct performance evaluations and set clear objectives for team members.
Strategic Partnerships:

Collaborate with department heads to support operational and strategic initiatives.

Advise senior management on the financial implications of business decisions.

Participate in cross-functional projects to drive business growth and efficiency.
About You:

Qualified Accountant ACA preferred (ACCA/CIMA with hospitality experience)

Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and industry standards.

Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
