Are you a skilled Town Planner looking to make your mark within a growing private consultancy? We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Town Planner to join a dynamic team in Derby, offering the chance to work on diverse and exciting projects across the Midlands and beyond.
 
About the Role
As a Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing a variety of planning projects, from residential developments to commercial and mixed-use schemes. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality developments, working closely with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure successful planning outcomes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Prepare and manage planning applications and appeals across a range of sectors.
·Provide professional planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with local and national policies.
·Undertake site appraisals and feasibility studies, offering strategic planning guidance.
·Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and the public throughout the planning process.
·Prepare detailed planning reports, design and access statements, and environmental assessments.
·Stay updated on planning policy changes and legislation, advising clients accordingly.
·Collaborate with senior planners and directors, with opportunities for career progression and increased responsibilities.
 
About You
·Qualifications: A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field. MRTPI accreditation or working towards it is desirable.
·Experience: 2-4 years of experience within a planning consultancy or local authority setting.
·Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UK planning system, legislation, and local development frameworks.
·Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
·Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, client-focused, and able to work both independently and within a team.
