We are seeking a caring and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a KS1 classroom, providing support to students with additional learning and behavioural needs. This full-time position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the classroom teacher to develop customised learning tasks for children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Build strong connections with all children and adapt communication to their individual comprehension levels.
  • Collaborate with educators and specialists to implement personalised educational plans.
  • Contribute to the promotion of an inclusive classroom environment by effectively managing behaviour.
  • Assist children in improving crucial life skills to foster greater independence.
  • Monitor and document children progress, allowing for appropriate adjustments in support.

Requirements:

  • To function effectively as a valued member of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team.
  • Demonstrate the capacity to address intricate and delicate matters with empathy and comprehension.
  • Possess a solid grasp of the national Key Stage Curriculum.
  • Show a profound understanding of child development and the learning process.
  • Either hold an Enhanced DBS check or be prepared to obtain one through Randstad.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.
  • Exhibit knowledge of diverse special educational needs and the corresponding strategies for support.
