Position Overview:

The Senior HR Officer will play a critical role in shaping the organisation's workforce strategy, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to one of the company directors, this role will lead and execute key HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compliance, training, and employee wellbeing. The Senior HR Officer will foster a positive organisational culture, enhance employee engagement, and ensure alignment of HR practices with business objectives. Additionally, the role will ensure the company adheres to all health, safety, and wellbeing standards while supporting continuous improvement across HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding: Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various construction roles. Coordinate job postings, screen resumes, conduct interviews, and manage the hiring process. Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth integration into the company.

New Starter Induction: Deliver comprehensive induction programs for new employees to facilitate their integration into the organisation and accelerate their productivity.

Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, addressing and resolving issues related to workplace disputes, grievances, and disciplinary actions. Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective communication and engagement initiatives.

Trade Union Relations: Point of contact for Trade Union communication. Build strong relationships with union representatives to ensure smooth onboarding and monitoring of workers for key client projects

Compliance & Legal: Ensure adherence to labour laws, construction industry regulations, and health and safety standards. Stay updated with changes in employment legislation and update company policies accordingly.

Performance Management: Implement and manage performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance and development. Develop strategies for performance improvement, recognition, and reward programs.

Training & Development: Assess training needs and coordinate with external providers or internal resources to deliver relevant training programs. Support career development initiatives, including mentoring and succession planning.

HR Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with business objectives and project requirements. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support the company's growth and operational efficiency.

Disciplinary Processes and Grievance Handling: Develop and implement disciplinary policies and procedures, handle employee grievances and complaints, and administer disciplinary actions as warranted.

Key Requirements:

* CIPD Qualified minimum Level 5

* Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in people

Management and HR operations.

* In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.

* Strong knowledge of CIJC Working rule agreement and regulations.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Salary Negotiable dependant on experience
