Technical Electrical Engineer/Estimator

SDE Energy Solutions Ltd, part of the SDE Group are recruiting for a skilled Technical Engineer / Engineering Estimator to join our company located near to Plymouth, Devon working on a full time permanent basis.

All candidates must be UK residents, and DBS checks will be required. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

This role would be suitable for individuals currently occupying an electrical biased role as either an Electrical Estimator, Technical Engineer, Electrical Engineer or highly experience Electrician with experience of estimating, knowledge of CAD CAM Programs advantageous with specific knowledge in the EV sector.

SDE Energy Solutions is part of the SDE Group Ltd with offices based in Chesterfield and Plymouth, this role is based out of our technical hub near to Plymouth working with our Technical Director.

SDE have been awarded significant contract within the EV charging sector for various clients in the public & private sector from installation of EV bus depots, public transport networks & private clients as client make the transition to electric.

SDE Energy Solutions are also subject matter experts in Solar PV & Wind with long term contracts in situ.

Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
All aspects of design and build electrical estimating including cable calculations etc.
Provide technical support to the Technical Director from theory to concept.
Planning and scheduling of projects to ensure projects run smoothly
On-site surveys to identify engineering solutions to work with new prospective clients.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labour expenses.
Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals.
Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
Monitor and report on project costs and progress.
Assist in the development and implementation of cost control strategies.Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the renewables sector especially within the EV charging or with the contracting industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
