I have an INCREDIBLE opportunity for an ENTHUSIASTIC and OUTGOING individual to join a children's residential service in Ely, Cambridgeshire as a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker, supporting young people between the ages of 8 - 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full UK manual driver's licence**

Job Title: Senior Children's Residential Support Worker
Salary: £32,608 - £36,825 (sleep allowance included)
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire (CB7 Postcode)
Hours: Full-Time
Contract: Permanent
Shift pattern: 2 on 4 off (8am - 11pm sleep 7am - 11pm sleep 7am - 8.30am)

Responsibilities:

- To lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
- Take greater responsibility for mentoring and supporting newer staff members
- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
- Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives.

Requirements:

- Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker, or with Young People is ESSENTIAL
- Level 3 qualification for Children and Young People is ESSENTIAL
- Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is ESSENTIAL
- You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
- You must be over the age of 21.
- You must be able to commute to Ely, Cambridgeshire
