Communication Support Worker - Specialist School  - Haringey 
A specialist school in Haringey, catering to both primary and secondary students, is seeking a dedicated Communication Support Worker to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse and inclusive setting, providing essential support to students with hearing impairments and communication needs across different age groups. 
 
The school is committed to delivering tailored support that enables students to access the curriculum and develop their confidence in communication. With a split-site structure, you will have the opportunity to work across both primary and secondary phases, helping students transition smoothly between key stages. They are looking for a skilled and compassionate professional who can make a real difference in students' educational journeys. 
 
Role Overview 

Position: BSL Teaching Assistant 
Location: Wandsworth 
Start Date: Immediate 
Salary: £105 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)  
The ideal candidate will: 

Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) - Essential 
Have experience working with students who are deaf or have communication difficulties 
Be confident in using BSL and other communication methods to support learning 
Have the ability to adapt communication styles to suit students across different age groups 
Be patient, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff 
Work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and speech & language therapists to support individual learning needs  
Your Responsibilities 

Provide one-to-one and group communication support across primary and secondary settings 
Use BSL and other assistive communication methods to facilitate learning and engagement 
Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to suit individual student needs 
Support students in developing confidence, independence, and self-expression 
Work closely with specialist teachers and therapists to ensure personalised support plans are implemented 
Assist in transition support for students moving between primary and secondary phases
