We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer up to Senior level to join a leading industrial and manufacturing company, based in Huddersfield. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise innovative and creative skills in designing and developing new products. The position requires a balance of technical expertise and effective team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Engineering: Design and develop mechanical systems and components.
Product Development: Re-engineer existing designs and create new applications.
Test Equipment Design: Develop test equipment and procedures for gearboxes.
Customer Requirements: Interpret and apply customer specifications and design standards, including geometric tolerancing.
Standards Compliance: Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards (performance, safety, etc.).
Documentation: Produce and manage technical documentation including proposals, manuals, and installation/maintenance instructions.
CAD Expertise: Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software (Solid Edge preferred) to create component and assembly drawings, BOMs, and gear data, including technical documentation checks.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production Engineering and Supply Chain teams to solve technical issues.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in DFMEA, PFMEA, and continuous improvement activities.Qualifications and Skills:

Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of product design and analysis methods.
Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, materials, and processing methods.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, AGMA, DIN, FKM, DNV.
Awareness of Machinery Safety regulations.
Experience with SAP in the context of engineering design data specification is a plus.What's on Offer:
