Assistant Town Planner - London

About the Role: As an Assistant Town Planner, you will play a key role in supporting the planning team across a diverse range of projects. You will work closely with senior planners, assisting with planning applications, research, site appraisals, and providing guidance on planning policy. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to build their experience and develop a career in town planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
• Conduct site appraisals and provide planning advice on development opportunities
• Support senior planners in the preparation of planning reports and documents
• Keep up-to-date with relevant planning legislation and policy changes
• Communicate effectively with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders
• Attend site visits and planning meetings, as required

About You: We're looking for a candidate with a passion for town planning and a desire to make an impact in the industry. You should have:

• A degree in Town Planning (or a related field)
• Some experience in the planning sector (internships, placements, or relevant roles are a plus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• An understanding of planning policies and legislation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of GIS software is a bonus
• A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently when needed
