Senior Design Engineer

The Opportunity:

Our client is looking for a Senior Design Engineer with prior experience in the highways technology industry to develop and lead various technology scheme designs from conception through to Preliminary Design.

You will drive the creation of a range of technical documentation, as well as and providing technical advice and governance to clients and stakeholders

This role would suit an Intelligent Transport Systems professional who is interested in expanding their scope of work across legacy and start of the art critical infrastructure that delivers Connected Cars, Autonomous and Electric Vehicles.

Skills and Experience:

* Knowledge of ITS and National Highways Technology Assets (Variable Message Signs, MIDAS loops, Emergency Roadside Phones, ANPR and CCTV cameras, etc.)

* Experience of design calculations and drawings, along with the ability to communicate these in a non-technical way

* An understanding of power and/or communications infrastructure design

* Able to take a lead role in project management/delivery as well as managing junior team members

* Full UK Driving Licence
