Brownlee Cale are recruiting for a TP141 / TP139 qualified Electrical Commissioning Engineer for a Power & Utilities Project

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated TP141 / TP139 Advisor to join our team and support our exciting power and utilities projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a solid background in National Grid operations, particularly with experience in TP141 and/or TP139 compliance, to play a key role in ensuring electrical safety, project delivery, and regulatory adherence across high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide expert advice and support on TP141 (Competence for Safe Working on or Near High Voltage Systems) and TP139 (Competence for Safe Working on Low Voltage Systems) requirements, ensuring compliance across all phases of the project.

* Act as the primary point of contact for all National Grid-related safety and regulatory matters.

* Work closely with project teams to ensure adherence to safety standards, including risk assessments and method statements.

* Support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical safety measures for both LV and HV systems.

* Oversee and mentor teams, ensuring that all safety requirements and protocols are strictly followed during the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.

* Conduct site audits and inspections to verify compliance with safety standards.

* Issue necessary permits (LV/HV) and provide expertise during the commissioning and handover stages.

* Ensure all activities are in line with National Grid's safety and operational procedures, including reviewing risk assessments and implementing mitigation measures as required.

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, civil, and HV/LV engineers, to achieve seamless project execution.

Key Requirements:

* Valid TP141 and/or TP139 certification.

* Proven experience working within National Grid standards and procedures.

* Solid understanding of electrical safety regulations, specifically in the context of power and utilities projects.

* Previous experience in advising and overseeing the electrical aspects of large-scale power and utilities projects.

* Strong knowledge of HV and LV systems, including installation, testing, and commissioning processes.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

* Ability to manage risk and ensure the safety of site personnel at all times.

* Full understanding of national regulations, safety standards, and permit requirements in the power and utilities sector.

Desirable Qualifications:

* National Grid Authorised Person status (LV/HV).

* Previous experience in overseeing electrical safety on renewable energy or battery storage projects.

* Strong project management skills, with an ability to deliver on-time, on-budget projects
