Finance Assistant
  • Contract: 12-month term
  • Location: East Ham, London
  • Salary: Pro Rata £27,656 (Term time Only+2 weeks) / Full time equivalent £30,495

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our client on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of all financial transactions using the Trust’s financial systems and processes. This role is integral to supporting the Finance Team in its operations and requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of financial management.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Setting up and maintaining approved new suppliers in the finance system, including maintaining paper files for audit purposes.
  • Efficiently receiving and recording orders and deliveries, ensuring accuracy in the system.
  • Processing purchase invoices for authorisation and dealing with account queries related to orders and invoices.
  • Chasing orders placed but not yet received for budget holders and assisting with maintaining a filing system for purchases requiring quotes.
  • Overseeing the receipt, counting, safekeeping, and banking of all monies received, processing petty cash and expenses, and managing systems for collecting cash for farm income and school trips.
  • Promoting the Parent Pay system and processing monthly journals for the Trust.
  • Maintaining finance documentation under a central filing system to audit standard and providing general administrative support as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience with financial systems, PSF (PS Financials), and a strong understanding of financial processes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage financial transactions with attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle queries and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to promoting systems and initiatives such as Parent Pay.
  • Commitment to professional development and adherence to the Trust’s policies and codes of conduct.
