About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Nurture Teacher to join our dynamic team in UB7. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and will be committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

As an SEN Nurture Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching small groups of students, developing individualized learning plans, and working closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure that all students receive the support they need. You will play a crucial role in helping students build confidence, improve their social skills, and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and development.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to support learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and carers.
  • Implement behaviour
  • management strategies that promote a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), preferred but not essential or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly in a nurture or small group setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards student's learning and development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications in SEN or a related field.
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Familiarity with behaviour management strategies tailored to students with SEN.
