Design Technology Technician

About the Role:

We are a thriving secondary school located in the heart of Southwark, seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology (DT) Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting students and staff in the Design Technology department.

Responsibilities:

Assisting DT teachers in preparing materials and equipment for lessons
Ensuring all tools and machinery are maintained and in safe working order
Supporting students during practical sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed
Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed
Assisting in the setup and maintenance of displays of students' work
Providing technical support for classroom projects and activities
Helping maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment

Requirements:

A genuine interest in Design Technology and education
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility and a proactive approach to work
A DBS on the update service is required

Preferred:

Previous experience in a technician-based role
