We are seeking a dedicated School Technician to join our small secondary school team in Tattershall, Lincolnshire. The successful candidate will support the Science, Food, and Design Technology departments, providing technical assistance and ensuring a safe, well-maintained environment for practical learning.
Day-to-day of the role: - Preparing materials and equipment for science experiments, food technology classes, and design technology projects.
- Ensuring all laboratory and workshop equipment is maintained and functioning correctly.
- Conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments in line with school policies and health and safety regulations.
- Assisting teaching staff during practical lessons by demonstrating the use of equipment and helping to manage classroom resources.
- Managing the stock of consumables and equipment, ordering supplies as necessary while adhering to the school’s budget.
- Providing technical support to students and staff, including troubleshooting any issues with machinery or equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment in all technical areas.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Experience in a technical support role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly within a school laboratory or workshop.
- Competency in handling a variety of technical equipment used in science experiments, food preparation, and design projects.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and students.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance tasks.
