Job Title: Risk and Compliance Analyst
Location: Central London
Salary: to £43,000 depending on experience + excellent benefits
Hybrid: 3 office / 2 home
Leading, tier 1 law firm are looking for a risk and compliance analyst to join their small team and assist with AML checks, risk and compliance, and conflict checks.
This is a varied and generalist role across all areas of risk and compliance including AML checks, and client and matter management.
A selection of duties will include:
- Conducting ongoing monitoring of clients and enhanced client due diligence checks for higher-risk clients
- Conducting research in relation to AML checks and use online systems to verify clients' identities and run background checks
- Monitoring the Compliance team inbox and respond to queries
- Monitoring engagement letter compliance and respond to daily reports
- Advising fee earners on the firm’s AML requirements
- Running and reviewing conflict checks
- Running sanctions checks and responding to sanction list alerts
- Completing client and matter records maintenance e.g. updating outdated records and advising on firm policy in relation to this
- Advising staff on the firm’s compliance policies and best practice
- Regularly review and update internal policies and procedures
- Maintaining compliance registers
- Conducting new joiner and other ad hoc training for staff on the firm's compliance policies and procedures
Our client does not necessarily need a legal risk and compliance background but you must have had some exposure to risk and compliance work (this can be from another law firm, or corporate/professional services environment) and a genuine interest in progressing your career within legal risk and compliance.
You must be quick learner with excellent attention to detail and confident communication skills. Fantastic opportunity for someone with some exposure to risk and compliance work who is looking to progress in a top law firm.
