AQA Global Assessment Services improves education and assessment by partnering with governments and awarding organisations around the world.

We're looking for an exceptional Director of Assessment Services to drive forward this area of our work by aligning different parts of the AQA group to develop new partnerships, clients, and contracts. You will work in a matrix manner across the organisation contributing to strategy, developing solutions and providing your expertise.

What will you be doing?

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Assessment Services strategy, to ensure goals are aligned with business needs
  • Build international relationships and networks to represent Assessment Services externally
  • Develop solutions, using the capabilities drawn from across the AQA Group of companies to address customer requirements
  • Lead the development of high-quality standards and assessment frameworks that meet the needs of technical and vocational education programmes.
  • Manage international projects related to academic, technical and vocational education, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Contribute research expertise in the field of educational assessment across general and vocational to support bid authoring, development and reviews
  • Leadership of the management and delivery of educational assessment including large scale field trials
  • Provide expertise in standards development and best practices to guide project teams, using extensive experience of the implementation of the full range of standard setting approaches in educational assessment
  • Oversee and be accountable for bid management activities, including identifying opportunities, strategic planning, and proposal writing
  • Deputise as required for the Managing Director of Assessment Services

What you'll need to succeed

  • Senior academic leader with considerable expertise in educational assessment, design, delivery and standards
  • Experience in technical and vocational education, standards development, and project management
  • Proven extensive track record in successful bid management and contract delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders in the academic, professional, technical and vocational education sector.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team towards achieving common goals, and ensuring they deliver strategic priorities.
