SEMH Teaching Assistant

Leader Education is working in partnership with a School based in Runcorn. We are recruiting for an experienced Learning Support Assistant / Behaviour Support Worker to work in a specialist SEMH school, providing educational support to students.

You will have previous experience of working with students with SEMH - social, emotional and mental health issues (previously known as BESD, SEBD & EBD).

You will have excellent behaviour management skills as well as patience, empathy and understanding.

THE JOB:

• You will be required to provide either one to one support or small group support to learners with SEMH - Social Emotional and Mental Health issues
• To comply with individual learning plans
• To take direction from the class teacher
• Work 1:1 or in small group

YOU:

• You must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience of working with students with SEMH
• Be patient and resilient
• Be creative
• Make learning fun
• Excellent communication skills
• Have a therapeutic and holistic approach
• Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be given.
