Salary: £80000 - £110000/annum

Our client are a longstanding design consultancy, working on varied projects in both the private and public sector throughout the UK. They are now looking to expand their regional team in Manchester and are looking for an enthusiastic Associate or Director to lead and develop their Civil & Structural Team.

General Role:

* Ensures the design output is accurate and checked to ensure information is clear, achievable, buildable, conforms to preferred methods, and is available to enable efficient procurement and construction of the works.

* Develops and implements project specific dimensional control strategy, to the achievement of project specific KPIs.

* Responsible for ensuring company & project quality requirements procedures are implemented and quality standards are achieved.

* Proactively supports the interpretations of as-built surveys/installations and ensuring they are checked prior to construction of follow-on activities.

* Drives the management and production of quality assurance information, ensuring aligns to quality assurance standards and consistency.

* Provides performance management of direct/indirect reports, providing technical & career development and coaching.

* Accountability for the technical aspects of a project including driving innovations and technical developments.

* Delivers continuous improvements in processes through application of best practices and lessons learned.

* Drives transformational change.

* Manages, influences & negotiates with key senior stakeholders (up to c-suite).

* Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You'll need to have:

* Have overall responsibility for the technical/structural aspects of the project.

* Lead the technical decision-making process.

* Experience in developing construction methods & sequencing.

* Ability to check design output to ensure that information is clear, complete, achievable, buildable, confirms to preferred methods and is available to enable efficient procurement and construction of the works.

* Responsible for ensuring that company and project quality requirements and procedures are implemented.

* Expertise in the management of temporary Works.

* Experienced in managing the health, safety & environmental aspects of the project (for structural elements).

* Professionally qualified with the Institution of civil engineers, institution of structural engineers or similar professional body.

* Provide engineering leadership to the project technical team.

* Highly accurate with good attention to detail.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of different audiences.

* Proven to build and maintain effective working relationships with project team and external stakeholders to ensure high quality service delivery.

* Ability to manage time effectively to meet key deadlines.

* Demonstrable experience of delivering engineering activities on building type projects of a complexity commensurate with this role.

* Qualified and experienced in the management of temporary Works
