Amnesty International UK (AIUK) has a simple aim: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international, and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom, and truth wherever they are denied. If you want to use your skills, knowledge, and experience to help fight for human rights, you could be our new IT Administrator.

About the role

The IT team is a dynamic and dedicated group providing vital first-line support, cybersecurity, and maintenance services for AIUK's IT infrastructure. As an IT Administrator, you will play a crucial role in advancing human rights through the effective use of technology. You will provide administrative and logistical support to the IT team, including laptop imaging, contract management administration, and managing helpdesk calls. You'll handle first-line responses to queries, allocate tasks appropriately, and contribute to the maintenance, installation, and problem resolution of IT equipment and services. Your work ensures our staff, members, and volunteers have the technical support they need to make a difference.

More details can be found by downloading the job description from our careers portal.

The role may be for you if:
  • You have experience working in a service-led environment, providing efficient support and demonstrating a flexible approach to tasks within a team setting.
  • You are skilled at prioritising a busy workload and balancing multiple priorities, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and deadlines are met.
  • You have excellent communication skills, able to communicate clearly and professionally with all users and suppliers.
  • You are organized and detail-oriented, capable of maintaining registers of software licenses and IT assets, and managing administrative tasks such as filing and placing orders.
  • You collaborate and positively contribute to an inclusive culture.

Our commitment to you

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism (IDEA) are at the core of our values. We want to be an organisation that tackles structural inequality and prejudice as well as be actively anti-racist. This means taking a meaningful and equitable approach to supporting and developing you and others during your time with us.

New colleagues receive 27 days of annual leave (29 after five years), plus bank holidays (pro-rated for part-time) and 3 wellbeing days. Employee pension contributions of 2-5% are matched at 6-9%, and we offer 6 months full pay for family leave. We support flexible working arrangements such as compressed hours and job shares.

Apply for this role

This vacancy may close earlier than the stated deadline if a high volume of applications is received (if you have started an application in our portal, you will still have the opportunity to complete it by the original deadline).

We welcome applications from everyone and particularly encourage applications from people from an ethnic minority background and people with a disability to help us achieve a balanced representation in our workforce.

To reduce bias in our shortlisting process, AIUK operates an anonymised application process. If you prefer to apply in a different format or require adjustments during the process, please get in touch. To support all candidates to perform their best at the interview, we send questions 24 hours in advance. We are a disability confident organisation.
