LSA required for an Autism Primary SEN School - Watford, Hertfordshire - January 2025 - £90- 100 per day - Full time to permanent role

An Autism specialist SEN school in Watford, Hertfordshire is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team in January 2025.

About the School:

The school is a large Autism specialist SEN school based in Watford, Hertfordshire, with a total of 56 pupils aged between 5-16 years old. The school is well-established, with an exceptional leadership team who are dedicated to providing high-quality education and support for their students. The school is committed to providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for their pupils, and has an excellent track record of supporting children with Autism.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the educational, social and emotional needs of students with Autism in the school. The main responsibilities of the role include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with Autism
Assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons
Developing individualised learning plans in collaboration with teaching staff
Helping students to develop social and emotional skills
Providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students
Collaborating with other professionals to provide a holistic approach to student supportTo be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

A minimum of Level 2 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. education, psychology, health care)
At least 1 year of experience working with children or young people with Autism
]Knowledge of Autism and an understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people with the condition
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A patient and empathetic approach to working with children and young people
The ability to work independently and as part of a teamThe successful candidate will receive ongoing training and support to develop their skills and knowledge in working with children and young people with Autism.
