Night Shift - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

SRG - Hiring for the Waste Management & Recycling Industry

Location: St Helens, Merseyside

Shift Pattern: 10-hour night shifts, 5 nights a week (20:00 - 06:00 or 21:00 - 07:00)

SRG is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading company in the waste management and recycling sector. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and help maintain essential machinery.

Responsibilities:

Carry out nightly engineering checks, including fire-watch and machine inspections
Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on conveyors, crushers, optical sorters, and motors
Respond to breakdowns and complete necessary repairs
Log work orders, report defects, and suggest process improvements

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
Experience working with conveyors is highly desirable
