A rapidly expanding and innovative firm known for its ambition and forward-thinking approach is seeking an M&A Tax Manager. After significantly growing their corporate tax team, they are now focused on enhancing their M&A Tax team. This role offers excellent progression and development opportunities within a smaller team that values recognition and rewards.

Role Overview:

The M&A Tax Team, integrated within the Corporate & Business Tax Team, is looking for a talented M&A Tax Manager to join their vibrant and expanding department. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and directors to provide specialised tax advice on various corporate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-sale Tax Planning and Restructuring
Due Diligence for Buy-side Acquisitions and Lending Reviews
Transaction Tax Advice and Structuring for Vendors
Post-sale Integration and Group Rationalisation

This team offers comprehensive transaction tax advisory services, primarily to owner-managed businesses and their shareholders, with a growing portfolio of institutional clients. Deal sizes range from £5m to over £100m, with most transactions between £15m and £50m, covering both sell-side and buy-side perspectives.

Your Role:

Oversee daily operations on transaction projects.
Prepare technical advisory and due diligence reports for review by directors and partners.
Communicate effectively with all parties involved in transactions, including clients and their advisors.
Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering their growth through delegation and on-the-job training.

Required Skills and Experience:

Transaction Tax Expertise: Experience with UK transaction tax on deals of the specified sizes, ideally from a practice background.
Professional Qualifications: CTA, and preferably ACA/ACCA qualified.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn and advise on new tax areas, supported by comprehensive training.
Client-Focused Delivery: Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality service to clients.
Technical and Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of tax technical knowledge and its practical application.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trust and relationships.
