Role Overview:

As a DT Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Design Technology workshops and classrooms. This is a full-time, long-term position, perfect for individuals looking to make a positive impact in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons.
Maintain and organise the DT workshop, ensuring a safe and tidy environment.
Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure all materials are available for lessons.
Support students during practical activities, ensuring they follow safety procedures.
Set up displays of students' work and projects.
Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies.

Requirements:

A keen interest in Design Technology and a willingness to learn.
Previous technician-based experience is preferred but not required.
A valid DBS check on the update service is essential.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting is advantageous.
