Overview


• We are seeking to hire a fully qualified and experienced reinsurance casualty actuary to join our Global Advisory & Analytics team based in London (Walbrook) and work directly with the Head of Global Casualty Analytics.

• The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of key Casualty Insights across the regions – North America, London, Europe, LAC, APAC


How you'll make an impact


• Identify market trends that impact Insurance Clients and Reinsurance markets

• Work with the Head of Global Casualty Analytics and Head of Global Casualty to form and maintain the Gallagher Re House view of Casualty Risk

• Develop, produce and maintain analytically based materials that can be used both internally (with the broking salesforce) and externally in order to drive insights and reinsurance solutions

• Run analytics across a number of key sources including

• Gallagher Re internal data across the entire client base, including (but not restricted to): Loss Ratio performance, Claims trends and dynamics, Premium rating – change and adequacy, Exposure analysis (Limit deployment, attachment profile)and Impact of changing claims practice

• Gallagher Re internal data across the reinsurance market base, including (but not restricted to): Quote and FOT behaviours, Appetite and competitiveness, Capacity deployment and Key assumptions such as inflation and overall profitability

• Third Party Data including: Publicly available sources (Schedule P, ISO, Lloyd’s) and Evaluate and execute the licensing of external data sources (eg Advisen, Orbis) including expected ROI

• Work with the Regional Analytics teams to determine regional nuances and needs

• Work with the Data team to develop and deliver dashboards and tools to present key analytical insights

• Assist with the development and delivery of marketing materials that can be used for external campaigns and internal sessions

• Participate in marketing campaigns – present and sell to clients and reinsurance markets


About You


• Qualified actuary with circa 10+ years’ PQE

• Experienced and motivated individual with the ability to organise and run the technical team to derive commercially valuable insights

• Must be able to pivot analytical work to commercial applications

• Ability to think about the big picture but also willingness to “roll up sleeves” and get into the data – team will be small

• Good knowledge of the Casualty market and willingness to stay at the forefront of the latest developments

• Willingness to engage with technical counterparts at clients and reinsurance markets to assist with the derivation of insights

• Ability to think creatively about designing visually compelling analyses to convey key messages

• Strong written and oral communication skills required

• Consultancy/Broking/Pricing background preferred
