Pastoral Assistant - Secondary School - Immediate Start - Hackney, London

LTF Recruitment is currently seeking a Pastoral Assistant for a well-regarded secondary school in Hackney, London. This vital role is available for an immediate start and involves working closely with students, teachers, and families to ensure a positive and supportive school environment for Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them manage personal and academic challenges
Work closely with the Pastoral Team and other school staff to promote student wellbeing
Address behavioural issues with compassion and firmness, ensuring students feel supported
Foster positive relationships with students and their families, maintaining open lines of communication
Monitor and support students' attendance, punctuality, and academic progress
Assist with any safeguarding concerns, adhering to school policies and procedures
Be a visible presence around the school, particularly during key times like breaks and transitions, to support student welfareEssential Criteria:

Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a pastoral or student support role
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
A caring, empathetic approach, with the ability to manage sensitive situations
Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated pastoral team
A genuine passion for student wellbeing and creating a positive school environmentAdditional Information:

Full-time, Monday to Friday
Paid up to £125 per day, term time only
Located in Hackney, London - easily accessible via public transport
