Early Years & Childcare Senior ***

We are seeking a Early Years & Childcare Senior to work on behalf of a local authority based in the Merton area.

To be part of the management team with a clear focus on the promotion and delivery of a high quality, accessible early years service for children age 2 to 4 years in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

Rate of pay: £19 - £24 ph (negotiable on experience)

Location: Mitcham, CR4 3HL.

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: would be on the Nursery shift pattern so first shift starts at 7.30am to 3.30pm, last shift is 10am to 6pm, then there's 8am to 4pm etc, standard hours would be 35 a week, term time only.

About the role:

Manage a staff team, ensuring the implementation and promotion of a high quality early years provision at all times, which is evidenced through the Ofsted Inspection Framework.
Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure all children reach their full potential.
Deputise and assist the Manager, ensuring the effective and safe management of the setting, including taking full responsibility for the setting in the Managers absence.
Play a key role in shaping a vision and direction for the provision, setting out very high expectations with a clear focus on children's achievement based on the EYFS.Main Duties:

Have a key role in managing delegated aspects of the settings activities in accordance with policies and practice, under the overall direction of the management team
Be responsible for supervising and managing a staff team. To contribute to staff development by undertaking effective support, supervision and appraisal.
Take overall and full responsibility for managing the setting in the absence of the manager.
Be part of the senior staff team in the daily management of the setting, ensuring children are provided with a safe, caring and stimulating environment in accordance with local authority and Ofsted requirementsHow to apply
