Specifications Technologist / Food Technologist - Food Industry

Brand new exciting opportunity for a Specifications Technologist to join a well-established food supplier based in Slough. This is the perfect opportunity for a Specifications Technologist/ Food Technologist with experience in the food industry, to join a thriving team and really make their mark. As the Specifications Technologist you must have worked within a similar environment withing the food industry. You will be responsible for the technical integrity and legal obligations of the food supply aspects of the operation and driving continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, Technical & Marketing some of your responsibilities will be;

Keeping a quality manual and other food safety documents including HACCP up to date and to ensure the company meets with all current food legislation.

Supporting the successful completion of customer and third-party audits and visits.

Gather, calculate and submit data for the company's obligations under packaging waste regulations and EPR.

To undertake GMP audits according to agreed audit schedule, distribute the results and ensure the closure of actions raised.

To lead and/or participate in root cause investigation when incidents or trends appear.

*

To participate in the investigation of complaints, food safety close calls and trends ensuring effective preventive measures are put in place.

To be considered as the Specifications Technologist/ Food Technologist opportunity you will ideally have worked in a technical role within the food sector for at least 1- 2 years, however this could also be suitable for a graduate who has held a similar placement within the food industry. It is desirable to have a degree within Food Science and a good understanding of the principles of GMP and Global Food Safety Initiatives.
