Main duties:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities (Rotating Machines):

* Creating new electrical designs based on a series of design rules

* To operate within company guidelines and procedures

* Attending both in-house and external meetings

* Assisting the sales team in costing and preparing quotations for customers

* Direct involvement in providing support and technical knowledge where required

* Liaising with external departments including Sales, Production, Quality, Test and Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities (Transformers):

* The generation of both tender and contract transformer designs

* To meet the requirements for tender/contract design data in accordance with the agreed due dates

* Liaison with external customers and other departments as necessary

* Ensuring that procedures and processes are properly reviewed and worked to

* The continual improvement of quality and environmental standards

* Cooperate and coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and improve design quality

* Continuous development of design processes and procedures

* The maintenance of housekeeping standards dictated by the company

* The proper utilisation and maintenance of all equipment provided for his/her use

* Analysis of Quality Alerts, actioned appropriately and in a timely manner

* Contribution to companywide Transformer Engineering and Manufacturing initiatives

* To ensure the requirements of new technology are assessed and effectively utilised

Qualifications/Skills required for the role:

* GCSEs High school or equivalent;

* Degree or Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering

* Strong Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel and VBA programming.

* Ability to read Engineering Drawings (Solidworks & Autocad)

* Desirable candidates will have electrical engineering knowledge, specifically basic AC and DC theory, magnetic circuits, electrical design, motors, generators and transformers. Personal characteristics/Attributes required:

* To be able to work well using own initiative and as part of a team

* Ability to ensure the work gets done in a timely and effective manner
