Are you a detail-oriented building surveyor with experience in managing legal disrepair cases? Do you have the technical expertise to ensure properties meet high standards and compliance? Local Authority is seeking a skilled Building Surveyor (Legal Disrepair) to join our team, working to resolve complex cases and improve housing conditions for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough inspections of council-owned properties to assess conditions and identify potential legal disrepair issues.
Prepare detailed reports and specifications for remedial works, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and building standards.
Act as a technical expert in legal disrepair cases, providing evidence and advice to support council responses and defend claims.
Collaborate with legal teams, contractors, and housing officers to resolve disrepair cases efficiently and effectively.
Manage repair projects from inception to completion, ensuring works are completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and actions taken to ensure compliance with legal and council requirements.

🔍 About You:

Qualified Professional: Degree in building surveying or a related field and membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS or CIOB).
Expert Knowledge: Strong understanding of building construction, legal disrepair legislation, and housing standards.
Problem-Solver: Ability to identify issues, provide effective solutions, and deliver results in challenging situations.
Effective Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging with legal teams, contractors, and residents.
Experienced Project Manager: Proven ability to manage repair works and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Experience in legal disrepair cases within a local authority or social housing context is highly desirable
