Job description

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join a busy but well organised kitchen team in Suffolk. This position could lead to promotion to Head Chef for the right individual. Perfect for those seeking more of a work - life balance!

The venue is a Bar and Restaurant and acts as a wedding venue, hosting a variety of events throughout the year.

Chef Requirements

· Has a minimum of 1 years Sous Chef experience or equivalent.

· Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety and Food Standards Legislation.

· A quick thinker, with the ability to problem solve and multitask without compromising quality of service.

· Keeps calm under pressure.

Chef Responsibilities:

· Uphold food, portion control, and allergen control standards.

· Ensure that all procedures are correctly carried out.

· Guide and support to junior staff members.

· Input into menu design and dish creation.

· Order and maintain correct stock levels.

· Support in conducting and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of stocktakes.

· Deliver reports accurately and on time.

· Maintain up-to-date records.

· Control supplies and equipment and re-order when necessary.

· Have an understanding and hands on approach to Marketman, Procurement and Costing software. (Ongoing training will be provided)

· Support Catering Operations Manager in Training and guidance of Front of House Team where required.
