We are writing a new and exciting chapter in the history of The Belfry. A major expansion and renovation project has begun at our resort, due for completion in Autumn 2025. Greenkeeping

The Greenkeeping team look after all the 3 Golf Courses and living landscape at the Belfry Hotel and Resort. Due to the world-class nature of our courses, our golfers have high expectations, and we have similarly high expectations of ourselves and what we deliver. We are uncompromising on our standards – ensuring our courses and our teams look fantastic.

Salary

The on-target earning potential for this role is £31,352.00 annual salary, compromising of a base salary of £30,000.00 plus a qualified estimate of £1352 gratuities per annum

About the role

This role is for 40 hours per week.

As the Deputy Head Mechanic, your role would be to undertake general maintenance of our machinery fleet on a daily basis, supporting the Head Mechanic. Although we do try to give all our employees a good work-life balance you may be required to work some evenings and weekends in this role.

Duties include:


· Assisting in the diagnostics and repairs of failing equipment


· Communicating with the Head Mechanic of any repairs, stock requests and general servicing


· Undertaking welding and fabrication as and when required


· Repairing two-stroke and four-stroke engines


· Repairing and replacing tyres and other parts


· Ordering parts


· Updating service records


· Maintaining compliance and safety


· Responsible for waste disposal

The position involves working 1 in 2 weekends throughout the summer, which will be added as paid overtime. During the winter, this will change to 1 in 3 weekends, working off a lieu hours basis.

About You

Our Greenkeeping team is a group of friendly and hardworking individuals with a passion for what they do and an ability to work individually and as a team. We are looking for someone who will fit in with the culture. Intermediate training or experience is required for this role. Although not required, an interest in mechanics or golf is desirable, along with previous experience in the greenkeeping industry.
