Software Engineering Lead - Fleet

Working in the defence domain, this company develops products that have saved countless civilian and military lives over the past decades. They develop countermeasure technologies that help detect and prevent enemy explosives and radar technology being used against our armed forces.

The project will be a situational awareness piece of technology, an amazing project which has several potential applications for use across the globe.

They are based just off the M3, in a newly renovated office. There is a brilliant group of engineers there working in a truly collaborative environment, on technology at the forefront of the defence sector.

This role is a great one, it will give you the opportunity to make a difference. Taking a leadership role in both the technical side, as well as managing a team of 8 people. You can shape the development and help nurture the future of several careers.

It is a technical hands-on engineering position as well as a leadership role, and you will have the opportunity to continue being an engineer. In that sense, they are looking for people with a background in:

• Embedded C/C++ OR C++ in an object-oriented, multithreaded environment
• Leading teams, not necessarily a "manager" role in the past, but mentoring and technical leadership
• The management/leadership of projects, specifically developing robust, reliable and maintainable software solutions.

Given the nature of the work, they are looking for people with sole British nationality for this position. It will be an SC cleared position with the view to move up to DV clearance.

Salary for the position is up to £85,000 with a 10% sign on bonus.

The role will be onsite more often than not, ideally at least 3 days in the office per week. They also offer a 4 day compressed week or a 9 day compressed fortnight.
