Job Description:

Dunbar Education is proud to represent a prestigious secondary school in Hertford in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive team on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance and school needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, following the national curriculum.
Lesson Planning: Develop and implement detailed lesson plans that cater to the varying abilities and learning styles of students.
Assessment: Regularly assess student progress through assignments, exams, and other forms of evaluation, providing constructive feedback.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment, managing classroom behavior in line with school policies.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and share best practices, contributing to departmental and whole school initiatives.
Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
Pastoral Care: Support the emotional and social development of students, acting as a form tutor and providing guidance as needed.
Extracurricular Activities: Participate in and contribute to the school's extracurricular programs and events.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education: A degree in English or a related field, and a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
Experience: Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably within the UK education system.
Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students.
IT Skills: Competency in using educational technology and virtual learning environments.
