Overview: We’re working with a well-established, medium-sized accountancy practice in Central London that’s seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead and grow their tax function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded tax professional to step into a visible leadership role with real scope for progression, client impact, and autonomy
The Role: As Tax Manager you'll play a key role managing and reviewing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, supporting complex advisory work, and mentoring junior staff. You’ll work closely with partners and be the go-to person for technical tax queries.
Key Responsibilities: Manage a mixed portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients
Lead on compliance, planning, and advisory projects (e.g. restructuring, SEIS/EIS, R&D, residence/domicile issues)
Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns
Handle HMRC correspondence and manage enquiries
Provide technical support to colleagues and act as a key point of contact for clients
Supervise and develop junior members of the tax team
Work with partners to identify opportunities for tax planning and business development
Requirements: CTA qualified (ACA/ACCA also desirable)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in UK tax within practice
Strong technical knowledge across personal and corporate tax
Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills
Experience reviewing tax work and mentoring staff
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and project
