PROJECT ENGINEER - UK VARIOUS - £££ NEGOTIABLE

VGC Energy part of VGC Group Limited are currently recruiting a Project Engineer to work on Overhead Line Project contracts across the UK.

As Project Engineer, you will be involved in overseeing individual projects, managing subcontracts, coordinating resources, and providing technical support.

The primary goal is to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Project Engineer - Responsibilities

* Oversee day-to-day health and safety matters for staff and subcontractors under your supervision.

* Ensure adequate reporting of safety incidents and near-misses, both internally and to the client as required.

* Plan and manage the daily coordination of Foremen, Line workers, and Sub-contractors.

* Maintain regular communication with the client's site representatives and attend meetings as required.

* Monitor project costs and stay informed about the financial status of each project.

* Prepare Method Statements, Work Instructions, and Risk Assessments in line with safety regulations.

* Provide the Project Manager with all necessary information to produce Contract Status Reports and other client-requested reports and submitting any project claims.

* Plan and coordinate resources such as labour, equipment, and materials to meet project demands.

* Determine material needs and work closely with the Procurement team to ensure timely availability of required materials.

* Adhere to and contribute to the effective implementation of business certifications, including OHSAS 18001, ISO9001, and ISO 14001, by following: Health and Safety Policy, Quality Policy and Environmental Policy

* Encourage continuous improvement and achievement through talent and effort, maintaining effective communication across the team and throughout the business.

Project Engineer - Requirements

* A proven track record of career progression - self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.

* Knowledge of construction and health & safety regulations.

* Previous experience supervising Overhead Line contracts, particularly steel tower construction at higher voltages (around 132kV or higher).

* Technical expertise in site supervision of line construction along with experience managing Foremen, Lineworkers, and subcontractors, along with liaising with clients and third parties.

* Experience with foundation construction types used in transmission projects, including familiarity with setting out instruments and techniques.

* Prior experience managing subcontractors and tracking measurement details for financial settlements.

* Ideally, some experience working with scaffolders and access work contractors, with a working knowledge of both areas.

* Full clean UK driving license
