Role Overview:

As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing the on-site design process at RIBA Stage 4 and 5 - Technical Design and Construction, in accordance with VCUK Design Management processes and procedures. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary between £62,000 and £69,000, plus an attractive package. Your expertise will ensure the project's design integrity and smooth execution.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design Management: Oversee and manage the on-site design process at RIBA Stage 4 and 5, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.

* Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design solutions are practical and cost-effective.

* Process Adherence: Implement and maintain VCUK Design Management processes and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

* Quality Control: Ensure that design deliverables meet quality standards and project specifications.

* Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and budgets.

* Reporting: Provide regular design progress updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of design changes, decisions, and approvals.

* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor junior design team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Requirements:

* Qualifications: A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Chartered status or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.

* Experience: A minimum of 8 years' experience in design management, with significant exposure to healthcare or hospital projects.

* Skills: Strong project management, communication, and coordination skills. Proficiency in relevant design and project management software.

* Knowledge: In-depth understanding of RIBA stages, design processes, and construction techniques.

* Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
