Job Title: Secure Residential Support Worker

Location: Hailsham

Pay: £15.00/hr

Working Hours: 37 hours per week on a combination of early and late shifts
Early shifts are - 7.30am-3.45pm
Late shifts are - 2.15pm-10.30pm

**There will be an occasional sleep-in requirement with a follow up of an early shift, this can be discussed at the time. **

Due to location, ideally have your own car.

About the Role:
As a Secure Residential Support Worker (RSW), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children placed within a Secure Children's Home. You will provide hands-on care, supporting children's emotional, physical, and social development while promoting positive behavioural change.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely with a multidisciplinary team

* Provide high-quality childcare and emotional support in line with care plans.

* Participate in team-based care planning and development of enriching activities.

* Manage challenging behaviour with empathy and effective de-escalation techniques.

* Ensure safety through crisis management and physical intervention when necessary.

* Support children's education and development in collaboration with Health, Education, and Support teams.

* Record and maintain accurate care logs, incident reports, and other documentation.

* Uphold a strong commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and equality.

* Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance within the home.

Skills & Experience Required:

* Essential: Experience in behaviour management and crisis intervention, strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and resilience in dealing with challenging situations.

* Desirable: Knowledge of trauma-informed care, experience working with vulnerable children, and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

* Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
